Google labs launched “Google News Timeline”, this will organize all your search criteria for Google News and other information in exact sequence presenting results from different source just by adding a time period in your query. You can get the information through navigation by just adjusting the timeline by time scale, weeks, months, years, or decades.

Google News Timeline can present results from many different sources, including both current and news from archive, blog posts, magazine, scanned newspapers and different relevant source like from sports, music and movies. You can view multiple sources concurrently, allowing each source-providing context to the others.

I just selected “TV Shows” from dropdown menu and entered “1982″ in Date box and clicked on “Add Query”. It displayed below screen.

This is very easy to follow news and gather information related to relevant source,
